How St. George Business Verifies Listings

This page explains what we check, how featured placement is labeled, and what users should still verify for themselves.

Verified

We checked public details like website, phone, address or service area, category fit, and basic profile integrity before publishing.

Featured

Featured means the business purchased extra visibility. It does not rewrite factual verification, remove caveats, or override the correction path.

Correction-first

If something drifts, we prefer fixing it or holding the profile back instead of letting a stale page keep compounding bad signals.

What We Check

The review pass is designed to answer one question first: does this business have enough clean public evidence to publish a useful directory profile without pretending we know more than we do?

  • Whether the business appears real and publicly reachable.
  • Whether the category and geography make sense for the page.
  • Whether the website, phone, and service-area basics match cleanly enough to publish.
  • Whether the profile belongs on a trust page, a category page, or should stay unpublished.

When A Listing Stays Unpublished

Not every business submission should become an indexed profile. Holding a weak listing back is usually better than publishing a thin page that confuses users or dilutes the city/category hubs.

  • Conflicting public data: phone, website, address, or service-area wording do not line up cleanly enough to trust.
  • Weak category fit: the business is real, but it does not belong on the page where someone is likely to compare it.
  • Thin public footprint: there is not enough source-backed detail to create a useful factual snapshot yet.
  • Correction or accuracy risk: the profile needs follow-up before it should be surfaced as current.

What We Do Not Claim

  • We do not guarantee pricing quality or project outcome.
  • We do not treat paid placement as a trust signal.
  • We do not publish depth just to look bigger than the real proof supports.

How Corrections And Featured Placement Work

Featured placement is a visibility layer, not a methodology override. Correction handling is the opposite: it is the mechanism that protects the public surface when a detail drifts or a better source appears.

  • Featured placement adds: more visibility on approved pages and guide inclusion where the page already makes sense.
  • Featured placement does not add: fake review scores, stronger trust claims, or immunity from edits and removals.
  • Correction path: locals and business owners can flag stale contact details, bad links, wrong category fit, or misleading copy.
  • If a correction is material: we would rather revise or temporarily hold the profile than leave the page live in a known-bad state.
